Hey! My name is Anna, and I am so thankful that you are considering me to create your floral arrangements!
I have always been crafty, but never in a million years did I ever think that I would be a faux flower florist. Before I started my business, I was an accountant. I still love accounting & never would have left if I hadn’t found such passion in creating floral arrangements.
I am so much more than a florist or accountant though, I am a wife to the most amazing man, a mother to the sassiest little boy & 2 crazy dogs and someone who would drop whatever I am doing for my friends. I am Disney & Harry Potter obsessed, and love to spend my nights with both of my pups curled up on my lap. On a beautiful day, I love to sit outside curled up with a book. I believe that scary movies should be watched year round, and Friday the 13th should be a national holiday.
The main question so many people ask is how I even got started creating floral arrangements out of wood flowers?! It all started years ago when I realized that nature was not my friend. Even just breathing on a flower would make it wilt and die (no joke).
The first time Zach gifted me a wood flower bouquet I knew I had to have more. I had been struggling with ideas for florals for my own wedding. I am a bit of a sentimental junkie, so the thought of being able to keep my wedding bouquet forever was the greatest thing ever.
After our wedding, Zach urged me to start my own business. I was going to stick with just home décor that was until I was asked to be a part of a wedding open house. After that the wedding side of the business took off. Within 6 months, I decided to focus fully on my business and opened up a retail shop!
This man right here is the love of my life, also known as Mr. Geek Chic!
Zach is truly my best friend, and my favorite person to spend time with. we love to go on crazy adventures & binge watch new shows. He always supports me no matter what crazy idea, I come up with & he is there helping me along the way. I mean he was the one who pushed me to start my own business. life is an adventure by his side, and I wouldn’t change a thing.
He also owns his own business Oak and Stone Photography, where I am an associate wedding photographer. He takes some of the most beautiful photos I have ever seen, and I love seeing how far he has come with his photography.
So I bet you are wondering why I call him Mr. Geek Chic?! it’s because he really is so much of the business. he is the man behind our product photos, marketing, graphic designs, and the carpenter who creates all of our fixtures & wood products. he even built this website for me (no he did not write this paragraph hahah).
My business would not be what it is today without him, and I am so thankful to have him in my life <3
This little man is Peter!
He is the sassiest 7 year old in the entire world, but man does he have the best humor. He is always making me laugh even when I should be disciplining him. He truly makes life so much fun.
peter is a hockey playing, lacrosse playing, ninja-warrior boy scout that keeps us on our toes at all times. He’s entirely obsessed with Pokémon and would play fortnite all day if we let him. he loves to read & solve math problems just like his mama, and will never stop trying to beat me at skee ball. his favorite color is purple, and would have glittery unicorns on everything if he could. he may be the funniest kid i have ever met, but he is also the most caring. he still cries when Stitch leaves Lilo, even though we have watched the movie a million times.
He’s the real reason I decided to go full time with Geek Chic. When he was born I was working full time & going to school full time to be able to provide a better life for him. After I graduated, I found myself working even more (especially during audit season). I still wasn’t spending the time that I wanted with him. I wanted to be able to drop him off at school, and be the first person he saw when he got off the bus. Being able to see him more is my favorite part of being a small business owner.
I wouldn’t trade anything in the world for this life <3
